There are few things that strike absolute fear in the hearts of __parents more than lice, the norovirus, and, of course, flying with kids. Each of these miserable experiences will no doubt put a parent through the wringer, causing more grey hairs and migraine headaches than anyone can count. But the flying-with-kids nightmare — man, that is a particularly special treat. One which tends to make the national news at least once a month. Even celebs aren’t immune to its tortures.
In a recent interview with Good Morning America, the talented (and need I mention INSANELY HANDSOME) actor Ryan Reynolds — who has two adorable girls, James and Ines, with wife Blake Lively — had some very funny words to describe his feelings on flying with his kids:
“I would rather drink a piping hot bowl of liquid rabies than get on a plane with my two children,” he said before adding, “At 2 years old, they just have to rip all their clothes off and introduce themselves to everyone on the plane.”
LOL — honestly, James and Ines sound a lot like my own kids. I can’t even take my brood to the grocery store without an international incident let alone board an airplane with them. Kids are wild, curious, and LOUD, which means taking them anywhere, for any reason, is bound to attract some kind of trouble.
The thing about traveling with kids is that no matter how well you plan, they simply cannot contain their energy within the confines of an airplane seat. And if I’m being honest, after an hour or so, I kind of want to run up and down the aisle screaming, too. This explains why every few months we see viral posts on Facebook about __parents bringing goodie bags for all the other passengers on a flight — they’d love to avoid having a plane full of strangers hating their guts at 10,000 feet.
“I’ve always had empathy for parents especially like [during] flying,” Reynolds told GMA, adding that, “Before I had kids, I was always like, ‘God, that’s hard.’ You can see [the parents are] sweating and they’re nervous because their kids are yelling and everyone’s mad at them.”
YEP, that pretty much sums it up — with hilarious perfection.
But Reynolds is no stranger to making the Internet laugh over his parenting quips. He tweets his comical observations on the regular, with gems like these:

Ryan Reynolds definitely has a tight grasp on the witty wisecracks when it comes to talking about the realities of parenting. He sounds like one cool dad (on top of everything else he’s awesome at). Le sigh.
