Months After His Human Left for College, This Dog Still Waits Patiently for Her to Get Off the School Bus

Anyone who knows me knows that I live by the theory “there is no love like the love of a dog.” Who else will loyally wait for you to come home every night and then pummel you with kisses upon your arrival? Who else will snuggle up next to you in bed while simultaneously covering you in fur? Ah, dogs are truly the best.

College freshman Carly Dunn can also attest to this. She’s been in school for nearly a full semester, but her sweet dog, Bo, hasn’t quite adjusted to her new schedule yet.

Carly’s mom sent her a text paired with a heartbreaking photo of her pup. It reads, “Your old bus just went by. Bo still hopes you are getting off after all this time.”

Cue the tears. Look at poor Bo patiently waiting for Carly to return! He’s squeezed himself under the table and everything! Have you ever seen a more clear display of devotion? I just want to pet him and promise him she’ll be back!

The tweet has since been retweeted 22K times and been favorited 56K times, uniting dog lovers from all over the world. It has elicited all kinds of responses from Twitter users. Some have told Carly to drop out of school to be with her dog (perhaps a little drastic, but hey I see where they’re coming from), while others have replied with photos of their own loyal dogs waiting for them. The majority simply responded with crying memes, as one does.

All I know is that this adorable border collie mix will be very excited when a certain college freshman comes home for the holidays. Please document the reunion for us, Carly!

Now excuse me, I need to go give my dog a massive hug.
