The lives of three little girls changed thanks to generous Chicago police officers. The department responded to a call, only to find a 1, 2, and 7-year-old in an abandoned house. The girls were taken to a hospital for a check-up and brought to their grandmother’s home. Though she is more than happy to take the little ones in, she recently lost her job and has limited resources. The officers decided to step in to make the living situation more comfortable for everyone. They filled the house with clothes, food, toys, diapers, and furniture that were purchased with their own money or donated.
During the week of deliveries, the officers discovered that two of the girls had birthdays that week. After being so involved already, they threw a party for them — cake, ice cream, and presents included!

It’s wonderful to see people being so kind to strangers. Hopefully others will be inspired to give back to their communities and families in need during the holidays, and throughout the year.
