Women in the World

Women in the World

The maternal mortality rate in the U.S. is not getting any better. In fact, over the last two decades, the number of women dying from childbirth related complications has doubled.

Recently our Executive Director, JoAnne Fischer, participated in a panel discussion around maternal mortality at the 2014 Women in the World Summit. Moderated by Soledad O’Brien, this open discussion looked at the causes and possible solutions that could be implemented in the U.S. to help reduce this problem.  You can see JoAnne’s interview with Soledad O’Brien here.
